About TaiwanMotor Neuron Disease Association
The organization was established on July 26, 1997. We have nearly 600 members who are the patients and family members of ALS/MND. Our headquarter is in Taipei, branch offices are in Taichung and Kaohsiung with eight fulltime staffs.

Our Mission

1. To build a complete medical care system ensuring patients receive the best care and strive the rights for them.

2. To promote a support net for the families with ALS/MND.

3. To increase the awareness of ALS/MND in our society.

4.    To enhance patients and their family’s life quality.

Our tasks

1. To publish the literature of ALS/MND including disease awareness, medical care, psychological adjustment, and social resources.
2. To cooperate with medical professionals and social workers giving physical, psychological and spirit - Total care.
3. To organize workshops and seminars focusing on general medical and caring skills for ALS/MND patients and families.
4. To develop various communicating tools, such as eye-tracking device for ALS patients.
5. To promote patients’ willingness for hospice care, especially who do not choose to prolong their lives by using a ventilator in the early stage.
6. To establish a humanity care center for ALS/MND patients.
